The Hamilton Hawks Rugby Club welcomed Lesa Mason as its 12th President at the Club’s recent Annual General Meeting.
Lesa has been a part of the Hawks community for 21 years, when husband Gerry began playing for the club. Lesa and Gerry were integral to the revival of Hawks juniors in 2005. Since then, Lesa has been the junior club’s secretary and registrar as well as treasurer for the last few years, becoming an incredibly valuable member of our rugby family.
Lesa played two seasons for our women’s team, and her two sons also played junior rugby for the Hawks. The growing family atmosphere of the Hawks made her realise her strong connection of pride and passion for the club.
Lesa is excited to continue the great work of the previous presidents and committees in making our club a great club. She is truly driven by values surrounding culture, community and inclusion of players and members, both past and present as well as the next generation of Hawks.
We offer Lesa the warmest welcome as the first female president in the Club’s 55-year history.
We look forward to the 2021 season.
